General Information
Conference Venue
The Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise is located on the Gold Coast in the
heart of Surfers Paradise - surrounded by shops, restaurants, cafes,
nightlife, attractions and only 100 metres to patrolled beaches.
The hotel offers guests modern facilities in a fun, fresh and
vibrant atmosphere. Relax by the swimming pool and spa, be
pampered in the day spa or enjoy a workout in the studio gymnasium.
The Conference workshops, plenary and concurrent sessions will be
held on Level 2 of the Holiday Inn. The exhibition,
morning/afternoon teas, lunch and cocktail party will be held within
the exhibition area on Level 4.
Gold Coast
The beautiful Gold Coast offers something for everyone. It has a
very
diverse environment from white sandy open ocean beaches to World
Heritage Listed rainforest. Its climate invites open-air activities
such as al fresco dining (there are more than 500 restaurants),
golf, sports, an exciting event calendar of culture, racing, music
and fine food.
With July temperatures usually ranging from 11-21oC
it
enjoys a subtropical climate and an average of 300 days of sunshine
a year. There are plenty of ways for delegates to kick back and
relax in Australia’s
favourite
holiday destination.
Partners and children can enjoy the region’s holiday atmosphere – at
theme parks, beaches, shopping
centres
and World Heritage areas.
Airport Transfers
The Coolangatta Airport services a variety of both national and
international airline carriers. It is located approximately 25
minutes drive from the heart of Surfers Paradise with a taxi costing
approximately $55 one way. For shuttle transport, the airport is
serviced by Gold Coast Shuttle (1300 655 655 or www.gcshuttle.com.au)
with the approximate cost of $18 one way.
Car Parking
Limited parking is available at the Holiday Inn.
Dress
Smart casual attire for all Conference sessions and social
functions.
Facilities For People With Disabilities
If you require facilities for people with disabilities, please
notify the Conference Office by indicating on your registration
form.
GST
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
Insurance
It is strongly recommended that delegates take out adequate medical,
travel and personal insurance prior to the commencement of the
event.

However, the Organisers reserve the right to make changes as
needed. The Conference Committee nor the Conference Organisers
accept responsibility for loss of monies or valuables of or
incidents relating to delegates.
Name Badges
The wearing of identification badges is mandatory and will be
required for admission to all sessions, trade exhibition and social
functions included in the registration fee.
No Smoking Policy
Delegates should be aware that smoking is banned in public buildings
and many hotels and restaurants. The venues being used for
pre-Conference workshops and for the Conference are smoke-free
venues.
Registration Desk
The Registration Desk will be located in the Foyer, Level 2, Holiday
Inn Surfers Paradise, 22 View Street, Surfers Paradise
and will be open every day of the Conference. Please collect
your registration documentation as soon as possible after your
arrival. The Registration Desk will be open during the following
times:
Thursday 17 July 2008 8.00am – 5.00pm
Friday 18 July 2008 8.00am – 5.00pm
Saturday 19 July 2008 8.00am – 4.00pm
